Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Educating and protecting consumers is extremely important, especially now in the light of recent developments that are having far-reaching economic and social consequences. Therefore, the European Commission has launched a competition to gather ideas for four educational videos for consumers. I am pleased to invite the members of your organisation to participate in this competition by submitting one or more storyline ideas on any of the following topics: financial literacy, internet safety, data protection, sustainable consumption. The European Commission will choose a winning idea for each topic and will work with experts in the audio-visual industry to develop the winning ideas into short educational videos aiming to empower consumers to make better-informed choices. The videos will be prepared and promoted across the EU later in 2020. They will be also available for consumer and youth organisations for their own use in education and information campaigns. Now more than ever, your role is vital in representing the voice of consumers and providing support to citizens and/or other member organisations. This competition is your organisation’s chance to see its ideas turned into an educational video that will be translated in 25 languages and promoted extensively across Europe. Authors of the winning ideas will be mentioned in the videos, get official recognition through the European Commission’s social media channels and receive a symbolic reward. We would be grateful for your participation in this competition and we look forward to receiving your creative ideas by the end of June 2020. Please feel free to share also the information on this opportunity with other youth or consumer organisations in your network.
